    My two sisters and I get together once a year in different places, with varied accommodations. Casa Julia.was a delight. It was spacious, bright, private, and very quiet nestled high above Taos with panoramic views, away from neighbors and the city,, yet very accessible to. Taos and surrounding areas. The amenities were outstanding. The property was as described, the manager and caretaker wonderful. We barbecued two of our meals and went to Love Apple for dinner the third night. We enjoyed the Ring of Fire drive and walking downtown. Four years ago we went to the Earthship, and would recommend others tour it; very fascinating and educational.

    It's a very nice two bedroom house with a bonus room with bunk beds. It's a bit challenging to get to the first time with a very bumpy road. Corvettes, won't make it. Once you get used to the drive it's not hard to find. Beautiful views, a functioning Jacuzzi, clean and nicely equipped. We were warned that the kitchen table needs to be replaced and we agree, it's pretty rickety. We will be back!

    We have enjoyed staying at Casa Julia a number of times. We love the location, the grounds, and the spaciousness and layout of the house. However, the house is showing some lack of care: loose and chipped faucets, sluggish plumbing, and rickety uncomfortable furniture. Also, the steps leading up to the front door feel precarious to us as we age. A railing would be nice and safer. The dishwasher is ancient and inefficient. Because of these issues, we will regretfully look for another home to rent the next time we visit Taos.

    We've been here before, and came back for the view/location. Things that need fixing: low water pressure, loose kitchen faucet (these were reported, but care-taker was "dismissive"), and missing light at bottom of spiral stairs was a hazard. Property needs improvements to bathrooms, which were outdated and fixtures with mineral deposits; pillows/sheets of poor quality for this house, which otherwise is a beautiful property.

    We had a great get away long weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views from the great room, the large deck and the bunk room are phenomenal. The beauty of the night sky can be fully appreciated without the light noise of the city. The quietness of this property is amazing. We slept so well and really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend and would also love to stay again.

    The property was beautiful. The views were amazing and the location convenient to the historic district and the ski valley. We cooked several meals but the dishwasher and disposal not working were inconvenient. The appliances could also use some upgrading. Our family of six wanted to spend time together in the living room but the furniture was not conducive to hanging out. All in all it was a great house - just needs to have some of the amenities updated.

    We completely enjoyed our stay at Casa Julia. Our favorite part was the view from the deck. We sat out there early in the morning, in the afternoon, and at night looking at the city lights below and the stars above. Another thing we really enjoyed was the fireplace. Casa Julia is convenient to everything - less than two miles to the plaza. This is a place we hope to go back to.

    Our recent stay at Casa Julia was very enjoyable. It is nicely decorated, clean, and the views (both from the windows inside and the hot tub outside) were unbelievable! Kate was also super responsive and easy to communicate with. The only caution I would give is for elderly people (like us) who might stay there: The steps leading up to the front door are a bit tricky - but this was very clearly pointed out in the listing. We used our walking sticks, which made them easier to navigate. All-in-all a very pleasant experience and highly recommended.

    Quiet and Scenic

    The property has stunning views both inside and out. Outside there are plenty of areas to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The hot tub in particular was such a nice feature. Location is ideal, far enough removed from the main town, but extremely easy to get to all of the conveniences of the city.

    The downsides are minor. First, there are cameras outside pointing toward all of the entry points of the rental. Although its understandable from a security perspective, it can be kind of creepy knowing that the property management company is watching you. The instruction guide was pretty long as well. It wasn't welcoming, but rather made you feel like you were an employee of theirs in how to maintain the property. And yet after the list of tasks they ask you to perform before leaving, they also ask for you to leave a tip. I'm not sure what the tip is for, considering we are responsible for cleaning the house and the hot tub before leaving, AND we pay a cleaning fee for the stay. Finally, the main bedroom doesn't have curtains on the window. It was only my husband and I for the stay, but if there were others, it would have been rather uncomfortable knowing anyone could walk by your bedroom window and see you.

    Either way, even with the downsides, it was still a pleasant stay in a very comfortable accommodation.

    Expansive views of the valley and mountains from the deck! Loved the hot tub. King Size bed was comfy.
    Sofas could use an update for comfort in great room and TV room. The policy of having the guests clean the dishes should be updated as we had to clean dirty skillets put away with grease and such. Overall the house is lovely and we enjoyed our stay. The Crabill's

    Casa Julia is beautifully located in the foothills. Each evening we watched gorgeous sunsets whilst soaking in the hot tub. Each morning we viewed amazing panoramic sunrises from the wall to wall windows. The house is comfortable and well appointed. The owners were very responsive.     This home has an exceptional view of the whole Taos valley from the main area of the house. There were many helpful touches, such as full size shampoo and soap, 5 gallons of drinking water, hot tub ready to go, grill works, and even a bundle of wood. Note there are many stairs to get to the front door. The caretaker was available by text though we did not need help after we arrived. The house was clean and well supplied. The house is not new, but everything works. We were very comfortable and loved our time here.

    We spent Christmas here in this cool unique house looking over Taos. Its even bigger than it looks in all the pictures although kitchen is modest but well stocked. All bedrooms are on the same floor.

    This is a beautiful home with amazing views. The back of the home has winding pathways and sits in the quiet!

    We enjoyed our 5 night stay at the house in March 2021. Best attributes - Outstanding Views, lots of nice artwork, very private location on large lot, dog friendly, hot tub, high ceilings, radiant floor heat. Negatives - The home is a bit dated and needs some minor repairs, low water pressure (on a well).

    A Beautiful Home in a truly Magical Place

    The home, property, and city are all incredible places. The location and views alone is worth it.

    There’s no doubt that the home needs significant improvements in the kitchen and bathrooms. The fixtures and appliances are dated, the water pressure is sometimes nonexistent, and a few easy flips would make the place perfect. It’s easy to see once you’re there that the place is near perfect from a location and vibes standpoint.

    With that said, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The property manager was amazing, and went above and beyond always, and Taos itself is such a special place. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
