    The main house is very roomy and beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cooking supplies, and there are also suffucuent toilet paper rolls and paper towels. The care taker is very responsive and helpful.

    Two things warrant special mention. The windows in the Casita, as noted by other prior guests, should be repaired. Opening or closing them is a 2 person job, one inside and one outside. Beyond incomvenient.

    The kitchen counters are covered with copper metal sheeting. Very pretty, but almost anything leaves marks; especially acidic things like tomato sauce or lemon juice. Be advised to use cutting boards liberaly to minimize exposure of the surface to things while cooking.

    My family and I have held our annual reunion at Scrabble House for several years. Gary at Premiere makes the rental process easy. Terra had the place in excellent shape on our arrival. We were pleased seeing so many upgrades this year. New dishwasher, new flooring in one of the bedrooms, fresh paint in several areas, a new dishwasher, new pots and pats. These all added to the joy of our stay. Needing attention are the windows in the casita. The opening/closing mechanisms on all the windows have been broken for many years. As there is no A/C, the broken window cranks make it difficult to regulate the temperature in the casita on warmer days.

    The property and the house is beautiful with spectacular views. Plenty of room for everyone. Our group of 6 had lots of room to stretch out. The hot tub was used a lot after a long day of skiing. Definitely would stay again.

    Thwew were 10 of us, 6 adults and 4 teenagers. The house worked like a dream. The little house worked great for teenagers and main house had spacious kitchen and family room. Kitchen well stocked. Description accurate, property very cleaned and maintained. Was a delight.

    Family reunion at the Scrabble House

    This year marked at least seven times that my family rented the Scrabble for our annual family reunion. We had nine adults this year. Plenty of room in the main house for cooking, talking, and relaxing. Great WiFi. Was able to log into the TV with my streaming account to access entertainment. The kitchen is well equipped. In the main house, the evaporative cooler worked well on the hot days we had in July. The property was clean and well-maintained. Terra, the property manager, was wonderful to work with. She was communicative and checked in on us by text message on occasion to make sure we had everything we needed. I would rate the property with five stars across the board, however the casita could still use some work. It is difficult to cool it down to a comfortable sleeping temperature (daily highs were about 90 degrees) until about midnight. There is a portable evaporative cooler in the casita and the windows have been repaired to where they open effectively. But it would be great if this situation could be improved.

    We had our family reunion at the Scrabble House for what must be the fifth time. The new ownership is working to make upgrades and keeping the home in great shape. The new caretaker was responsive to our needs. All in all an excellent stay. We will be back.

    This house accommodated our multi generational family of 9 perfectly over the 4th of July holiday weekend. The attached 2 car garage was a bonus as we had a few rainy days. The minute we entered the house, it felt like home. Our son was able to cook chef inspired meals in the fabulous kitchen that was stocked with every pot, pan, appliance and utensil you would ever need. We appreciated the array of spices, baking ingredients and condiments as well.
    The beds were extremely comfortable. The house was very clean and spacious. We took advantage of the many games, puzzles, movies, and books. We could have easily been entertained here without ever leaving the house. My grandkids really enjoyed the hot tub and the smaller house was perfect for their little family of 4.
    All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. If we return to NM in the future, this property will be at the top of our list!

    We were 5 senior couples touring Taos, Santa Fe and Mesa Verde. The home was in an ideal location and since we ate in each evening the kitchen provided everything we needed. Comfortable beds and plenty of room. A very cooperative house keeper.

    Great Vacation at Scrabble House

    We stayed 5 nights at the Scrabble House with a large group of friends from all over the country. The location is gorgeous and very quiet but you can be in downtown Taos in only a few minutes. The large kitchen and dining area was perfect for hanging out and cooking meals together. We had a great time and would definitely return.

    It was a reunion of friends now living in 5 different states. This location gave us easy access to Georgia O'Keefe's home/studio, great restaurants and shopping in Taos, the Taos Pueblo and everything that we needed. The kitchen is well-equipped and the outside grilling gave us a successful home-cooked dinner. The bedroom/bathroom set up was perfect for 5 couples. I am wondering about a return trip during skiing season - it's also near excellent skiing and we were there in the summer. . .

    The property is in a great location for hiking, biking, and sightseeing. It is a great size for a family of 12. We had a problem with the pool but a call to the property management company brought a quick response and the pool was fixed the same day.

    The house is very nice and the property manager and owner are sensitive to your needs and concerns. It was very spacious and clean when we arrived. Bear in mind it’s not a four star hotel villa but is well cared for. I loved how close and yet removed it was from Taos. BTW ther is an excellent Mexican restaurant just down the road. Highly recommend this place.

    Travelled with a family of 11 (6 adults and 5 kids). This location was perfect. Enjoyed the separate cabin as we had 3 families. Loved all the board games. The owners have thought of everything at this property! We also loved ease of access.

    The Scrabble House hosted my family's annual reunion. 10 of us in all. 7 adults and 3 children. With the casita, we were all able to sleep comfortably. Great features about the house include the ample and well-equipped kitchen and dining area. We never felt cramped even with all ten of us together. The house also sits perfectly to catch the breeze to keep things cool. We all slept well, too.
    Things to note if you intend to stay here is the near proximity (about 100 yards) to the road that connects Taos with Ski Valley. Not necessarily a bad thing, but the road noise is a constant. It didn't bother us. But you should be aware. The WiFi works, but was very slow.
    Areas for improvement. There was an ant problem when we visited. The backyard area was unusable as a sitting area owing to ants seemingly everywhere. Also, there were little black ants in the bathrooms on the north end of the house and in the casita. The pool cover is unwieldy and requires two people to replace it after using the pool.
    Overall, the house worked for us and we had a great reunion.

    Scrabble House worked very well for us. The compound is located between Taos and the Taos Ski Valley, which allowed our skiers to get to the slopes without driving through town each day, and the rest of us to visit the Taos attractions easily. Our extended family group was ten, including two children, so the main house and guest house provided comfort and privacy. The kitchen was well equipped, and the dining room and living room allowed us to gather comfortably together. Washing machine, dryer and dishwasher were super quiet. Although we prepared and ate most of our meals at the Scrabble House, (purchasing most of the ingredients at Cid's, a local grocery about five miles away in Taos), some of our group dined at Orlando's (for New Mexico cuisine)and Medley (for more up-scale dining), and recommend both. The nearby Millicent Rogers Museum has an excellent exhibit of pueblo pottery. Our stay was a most pleasant experience.

    A great family vacation rental

    This property offered a lot of space and privacy. The casita was a plus as we needed sleeping arrangements for 8. The kitchen was very well equipped and we utilized the large dining table every night. The fireplace made the living area very cozy. The location was great being very close to Taos and only about 20 minutes from Ski Valley.

    We did not get a lot of information from the caretaker. He met us at the property when we checked in, but seemed distracted and did not offer much information. I would have liked a more detailed tour of the property and amenities, more conversation, and the chance to ask questions. Fortunately, we did not have any difficulties while we were there, so we did not need to contact the caretaker during our stay.

    This was a great property to spend our holiday vacaation.

    My family and I stayed here for 5 nights in December. Very spacious, plenty of room for 7 adults (2 couples, and 3 singles) to each have their own rooms. Family, dinning, and kitchen areas are well equipped and spacious to host large parties. We really enjoyed making breakfast and dinner here to start and end a day. Fresh cut cedar firewood was on the property and worked great for building a fire in any of the 3 fireplaces or the out door fire pit. We had the main house and the side house together for the entire group, worked great to have the separate smaller house for the younger ones to retreat to at the end of the day.
    Location was great as well. Only a short 10 minute drive into the main part of Taos, where we did dinning and shopping. We partake in skiing activities in Angel Fire, which was only a 50 minute drive away. Did this because the slopes are easier than Taos ski valley. The drive through the mountains was beautiful. We also drove up to the Red River area for an activity, this also was around a 50 minute drive.
    Overall, the house and the location were great.
    Arriving and departing was hassle free as the care taker was easy to reach and responded quickly to any text message question we had.
    I highly recommend the Scrabble House Compound to any one needing a house outside of the main city of Taos with large amounts of space.

    Nice big house that handled 10 adults in 5 king sized bedrooms (3 in main house and 2 in casita). Kitchen was well equipped, loved the giant cooper counter and big dining table. Appreciated the fenced yard for the dog, and loved the outside fire pit. Plenty of dry wood was available for fires inside and outside. Hot tub worked great. Enjoyed the games and puzzles available to us.

    Casita was "older" - less nice furniture and beds. We used the oven in the casita to keep some thanksgiving dishes warm, and there was a bad smell when the oven was on. Hopefully we burned off what ever it was. Shower didn't drain particularly well I the casita either. But neither issue was a big deal.

    The compound is right on the main road going toward the ski area. Road traffic died down at night and wasn't an issue. Compound felt private, especially out back. Loved the evening lights, terrific view, and horse shoe pit. That was a nice surprise. Stars were amazing, just liked we hoped for.

    Had one phone call/text with property manager about location of keys, otherwise had no need to contact.

    We might have to make this an annual trip!

    Very good over all. Great House, great location. Great for our family reunion. Nice kitchen/dining room for family gatherings. Nice living room for having out. Hot tub had some issues, but I suspect this was a one time thing. Care taker seemed friendly.

    Scrabble House is in a good location north of town. It's close to the Taos Ski Valley, the river gorge, and Taos town. The house is perfect for a large family. It sleeps 10 adults in king beds and children on cots. The lap pool was a great addition for the adults but best at keeping the children busy. Check in was easy with someone at the house to show us how to operate the pool, hot tub, and water cooler-which was handy in the late afternoon when the house got a little warm. I will certainly recommend the house and would like to stay there again.

    Wonderful setting and perfect base for trips to Santa Fe, Bandelier,Taos ski valley, Angel Fire, Enchanted Circle, and a Rio Grande float--in addition to scenic Taos and vicinity. Loved Smith's Grocery Store and Pharmacy, Twirl for kids, friendly churches, and the accommodating Urgent Care. Lovely cooled large, comfortable house and cute private Casita suited our family of 11 very nicely (ages 1 to 72) All the beds were the best we've had in a rental. The caretaker was kind and helpful. He did his best to fix the wave pool--which may be on its last legs. That's a shame because it was enormous fun when it was working. The stock of puzzles, books,and DVD's got good use. NM was new territory for most of the family, and we appreciate having had such a great "home"for a memorable week.

    Fabulous place for a large group

    We selected this property for a reunion with 5 couples. Each of us has reached the point where King beds are really a necessity, not just a preference. This property has 5 bedrooms and 5 king beds. Two bedrooms share a bath in the guest cottage. There are three bedrooms with en suite baths and another full bathroom in the hallway. Although not fancy, the accommodations are very nice, comfortable and southwestern in style. I love the copper counter in the kitchen and the large dining table. We lacked nothing! There are plenty of supplies in the cabinets, whether spices or hot chocolate. It felt like home within an hour of unpacking. Located outside of Taos, about halfway to the ski area, it was quiet and offered unlimited star gazing. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, if I was traveling to this area, with a group again.

    We met up at the Scrabble house with 3 families, who all have younger children. The kitchen and dining area are super spacious. 5 king size beds was another big plus as well as access to 5 full bathrooms. The pool and hot tub are small, but there are not many homes in the area that have this available and so we were very thankful for them. The casita is truly separate from the main house and works well if part of the group wants a bit more privacy. George, the caretaker is top notch with great recommendations on where to go and what to see. The hike up to Williams Lake is a must! Easy to get to from the house. It was a bit further outside of Taos than I had expected, but overall not bad!

    Scrabble House was perfect for 9 ladies. The wave pool was fun and great exercise. The caretaker was very helpful. It was private and quiet, yet only a few minutes from a micro brewery and a great Italian restaurant. Would love to stay here again.

    The houses were clean and the location was convenient to the ski area and to Taos shopping and even to Red River for a day trip. I would recommend this house for a longer stay. A week was great. We never contacted any customer people because we didn't have any need to. The shower curtain rod in one of the guests' bathrooms kept falling down and that was the only problem we had. We would stay again if in that area.

    each year we take our entire family to some COOL spot so the grandchildren can know their cousins. taos was fun for all of us, & the house was the perfect size, with all the amenities we are accustomed to enjoying. the wave pool was a delight for the children, who made endless games with that current. we hope to come back one day.

    Our care taker was there to greet us when we arrived. He was very attentive and helpful with all of our questions, so very pleasant. We choose Thanksgiving week and prepared a feast!
